وهناك العديد من المجالات التي تهتم بمفهوم تقييم الشخصية خاصة على مستوى البيئات التطبيقية أو المهنية، حيث إن هناك تفاوتًا بين حجم العرض الوظيفي للمتقدمين للوظائف الشاغرة، وحجم الطلب الوظيفي للوظائف الشاغرة التي تحويها المنظمات على اختلاف أنواعها وأنشطتها التجارية أو الصناعية، وهذا ما يدعو إلى أن يكون هناك حالة من التوافق بين ما تتطلبه هذه الوظائف وبين ما يمتلكه المتقدمون إليها من مهارات وخبرات ومعارف متخصصة، كما تؤدي مهارات المقابلة الشخصية دورًا هامًا في عملية تقييم الشخصية من قبل أصحاب الوظائف
